We were so excited to come to Darwin and spend the week with mum and dad who flew up for a vacay with us. I was so excited to see them I stayed up until they flew in at around 1am to see them, I met them at the front gate and it was the best hug ever! After a good night sleep we started planning out some adventures we could all share. First day we just chilled out by the pool and kept cool, it’s so hot and humid up here. Day 2 we decided to get out and about and went to the museum and arts centre, we couldn’t believe how many different little bugs share this earth with us! It was a great experience, the cyclone Tracey area was also really good and interesting.

After the museum we went to the waterfront for a pub meal at an Irish pub before cooling off for the afternoon at the wave pool, which brought on lots of laughs, it was really fun!

Day 3 we decided to spend some time fishing on the pier to give my brand new fishing rod a baptism, unfortunately no fish, but we are going to keep trying to snag that Barra! We have some lunch on the pier before heading back to caravan park for some relaxation by the pool, and of course to cool down!

Day 4 we travelled to Berry Springs thermal swimming hole. Great little spot. Thankfully didn’t come across and crocs lol after floating away we headed to Humpty Doo pub, an iconic pub for being the oldest original pub in NT and displaying the biggest buffalo horns in the world, until last year when they lost that title.

Our last full day together it was time to hit the water slides! Like FNQ there are free water parks around for families, except this one has 3 water slides as well! Mum and dad both went down them too, I could hear mum scream from where I was sitting!! Lol we also went to a crocodile park, oddly in the middle of the city! The boys not only got to hold a croc they also got pat and scratch it’s neck like you would a dog! We learnt a lot and got some really nice photos.

To top off an already big day we went to the Mindil markets and watched some of the sunset which was pretty spectacular

We then came to the time to say goodbye! It was so much fun holidaying with mum and dad, we loved it, the kids loved it, and they wanted to go home with them!
